Hi, I’m Demi

An eating disorder and disordered eating therapist dedicated to help you achieve a balanced relationship with food and yourself.

Change your relationship with food and with yourself and create a life that you will love

I know how hard it is to live a full and satisfying life, when nothing you do ever seems to be enough. Through my personal journey and the journey that so many others have taken before you, I can guide you to feel free of food related thoughts, so you can achieve a better relationship with food and with yourself.

What do I do?
During our work together, I will guide you and help you understand the deeper reasons for your eating behavior, a behavior that might have once served you but is no longer the best choice for you. I will help you create different thought processes that are closer to who you are now and what you need in order to grow to the best possible version of yourself.

“Demi is an incredible therapist and woman. She is one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. She never let me down and was always available in the most difficult times. She is insightful, knowledgeable, and extremely intelligent. She cares very much about all her patients and it shows through her work. An incredible woman. I am so blessed to have met her.
Thank you Demi for all your help !”

FAQ

If you are facing problems that affect your physical health, your social interactions or your work life, then maybe it is time to ask for help. The problem does not have to be severe in order to contact a therapist. Maybe you have realized that you think of food or your body more than you would like to and you feel you might be falling behind in different areas of your life because of that. The sooner you ask for help the easier it will be for you to work things out.
Each session will last 50 minutes and will be conducted via a video call. It’s important for you to have a safe, quiet place, where you can speak uninterrupted. The sessions will be weekly. In some cases, where psychoeducation or nutritional coaching might be needed, I might suggest some extra sessions. I dedicate the first few sessions to getting to know you for you to get acquainted with the process of therapy and for you to start feeling safe. During the first couple of sessions, we will set together the goals of the therapy.
It is very hard to estimate for how long each person will need the therapeutic environment. It depends on the problem, the personality, how ready the person is to change and at what pace they would like this change to happen. During different stages of therapy, we evaluate together our progress and our goals and examine if anything else might have come up that needs our attention.
This depends on the problem you are facing. In some cases different professionals might have to work together to help you achieve your goals towards better mental and physical health. Part of the first session is to evaluate your needs and what would be a better fit for you. Together we can work on the psychological aspect, but due to my background in dietetics, I can help with some nutritional aspects. However, if more intense work is needed around your nutritional habits, this will be done with an independent nutritionist.
